With this project students were to use white colored pencil and try to create a large range of values from the brightest white to gray to the black of the paper. We looked at images of Tibetan mandalas, Celtic circle mazes, and other examples of "sacred" circles from other cultures. Students were asked to use imagery that expressed their inner spirit or soul. Circles are considered "sacred" in many cultures.
