CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
By Mr. Trepus
Spanaway Junior High School

Upon this wall are rules I post
That you must follow here the most.
When down the hall the late bell rings,
Be in your seat with all your things,

Stay at your desk and don’t deface
With blobs of ink that won’t erase.
Flying spit wads, pens and pencils
Are dangerous, deadly, lethal missiles.

Here is something for you to consider;
Where is the place we deposit litter?
It’s not the room floor or the hallway carpet,
But in the waste basket is where we drop it.

Be considerate of your neighbor;
Do not borrow his pen and paper.
Be sure your homework is complete,
Turned in on time - Very neat.

 Remember to meet all homework deadlines
To avoid low scores and half-credit fines.
On quizzes and tests over material taught,
No points awarded if cheating you’re caught.

 On each assignment do your best;
Study and review to prepare for each test.
Proofread and edit each lesson with conviction
To prevent poor grades and parent restriction.

 If you are absent with a sickness attack,
Pick up missed work the day you come back;
And work really hard to get it all done,
Because being behind is not really fun.

 Listen carefully to all directions
To avoid mistakes and teacher corrections.
From all of you I will expect
Clean language, politeness and respect.

 During discussion avoid disruptions
With needless talk or rude interruptions.
Please raise your hand before you talk out,
So all may hear what your thoughts are about.

 Take no pop, candy or gum to your seat;
We wait until lunch to buy food to eat.
“Pride Wear” rules must be followed to win;
No baggy, saggy pants; shirts always tucked in.

 Never hurl insults or words of fear,
“Please” and “Thank You.” are better to hear.
Never talk about others in a negative way;
Rather, “SJH Pride” - “It’s a Beautiful Day!”

 By treating each other with consideration,
You will enjoy a first-rate education.
But if these rules you do neglect,
This poem written out - I will collect.
