As a pioneer on the Oregon Trail, the trip west will be the high point of your life. Make a diary of the events that happen to you and your wagon train.
REQUIREMENTS: There are three parts to your project.
1. TITLE PAGE: Your title page must include: 1) a title, 2) your first and last name, 3) wagon train number, 4) class period, 5) the date the project is due, and 6) illustrate your title page. If possible use color. You may use "Clip Art" to illustrate your title page.
2. THE DIARY: Build upon the events that you have listed in your LOG OF EVENTS. Combine related events to make an entry. Your diary must be based upon events that actually happened in the classroom. Be sure to include the date and location of each major event you write about. The events in your diary should be in the order they happened.
You can include details that are about yourself and other pioneers from your wagon train. Use your imagination to create an interesting entry. Put your emotions into your diary. Describe each hardship, record what people did, what they said, and how people reacted to the hardship of others. Your diary must be more than just a list of events. This part of your project must be at least one page long. (The maximum number of pages is two.)
3. ONE ILLUSTRATION OR ITEM OF INTEREST: You should illustrate your diary with at least one item. The illustration must have a title. Below is a list of ideas. All items must by handmade - no "Clip Art." You may do more than one for extra credit.
